After crushing the flounder yesterday – alex and andrew hoped to do the same today. We caught a few, and hooked a bunch, but we found them uncooperative and not all that ready to eat a menhaden. After landing several (including a 4lb’r), a few seabass and a big virginia hake…we decided to light-line some big spanish.

It was one of the best big mackerel bites I have had in years – I could not keep a menhaden in the water for more than 30seconds. We had 4-7lb spanish in our baits constantl landing a bunch…all the while getting rocked by 20lb+ smoker kings (smokers on 8lb spinnng rods anyway) before andrew landed a 20lb’r on 8lb test fireline. Awesome!

If only all days could be this easy…
