26″ – broke off several as well…and have a half dozen 18-21″ flounder as weel!

This was all that Earl gave us – a great swell. My wife and I went to the oceana pier to watch the surfers and it was a hoot. The big swell was about hitting the floor boards at the end and the surfers, who have been waiting years for such conditions, were jumping off the end and riding it in. Awesome sight.

Other than that we got less than 2″ of rain and the winds didn’t top 30mph. I was hoping we’d get a lot more rain and help wash the shrimp out of the river and really fire the reds up!

Regardless – the reds are gonna chew this weekend. I cannot wait to get after them!

I was going to be going out of town on vacation this week, but due to extenuating circumstances…our vacation is to be put on hold for a short while.

I know I’ve turned down A LOT of people the last month or so and I hope you all have a great time with my friends and associates!

I have already fielded a couple of calls, but I will be booking Wed, Thurs, Fri and the following Saturday or Sunday.

Tides this week are excellent for redfish, flounder and sheepshead/black drum.

Ocean – giant sharks, big spanish mackerel, flounder, amberjacks on fly/spin…and if you’re really feeling lucky there have been a lot of sails being caught close to the beach. It’s a great week to go try to raise one!
