7/1 – Taking the holiday weekend off, I went fishing Saturday morning with my good friend Captain Gordon Churchill. We decided to get far away from the crowds and hit the big water for some red dawg action.

Conditions looked but the wind switched to the north earlier than predicted and combined with the rain runoff made the sight fishing conditions very, very tought.

We fought it out and caught several flounder on jigs, spooked a nice school reds, and got into one really good school of reds where we both landed these two beautiful slot fish.

This summer I’m offering drum fishing trips in the Pamlico sound – light tackle full days for reds, flounder and trout (the slam is possible!) and night trips for giant drum in August-October.

Call for details!!
