5/6 – After several days of severe (and often gale-force) south winds, we finally had a short fishable window. I have to admit, i was not keen on fishing today and would have probably cancelled in a heart beat but the fish had been there and Bruce (and his wife) REALLY wanted to go as it was probably his only window of the entire week. It was rough as snot first thing so we had to leave very late, it was really sunny…not ideal conditions. However, you don’t know unless you go.
Not only did it calm down during the course of the day (not forcast) but we arrived to busting Bonito and we picked away at them all morning and early afternoon. We had double headers, singles and we even managed a 10lb bluefish and several very nice 2lb spanish.
