This morning I took out Craig, Jack and Aaron of the New Bern Saltwater Fishing Club – my absolute favorite fishing club š After a day of warm south winds, the weather decided to switch on us – we were greated early with a steady 15 knot NE Wind. The conditions were pretty choppy and worsened quickly.
In such a hard wind swell, it was hard to “light tackle troll” my lines straight and we struggled a bit to target the correct structure. However, we steadily landed some nice bluefish, lost several Bonito and finally landed a beautiful 6-7lb Bonito casting to breaking fish. While the fishing slowed with the conditions, these boys learned a lot and I’m sure I’ll hear back from them again.
