After a fantastic morning of fishing, I headed home – ate some lunch (a little seared Bonito) and walked the dog. Less than two hours after having arrived back at the sli[, I was with my friend Scott Crocker of www.shacklefordcharters.com at the ramp – time for fishing part 2.

We headed out to the marsh to look for some hungry reds. It didn’t take long – the first hole provided fish, one after the other. The action was constant with fish moving past the boat in waves for the better part of four hours – drum after drum after drum…and they were all starving. Most of the fish were in the low slot (17-19inch 3 year old fish) with a few rats and a beastly 28 inch beauty that pulled me all over throughout the bars and flats. The spring drum are heating up – and they’re starving!

What a fantastic day – it’s just one of those days that you wish every other day could be like…
