After a morning spent fishing for kings and albacore (landed two big albies and a nice king) with my buddy Captain Scott of

www.shacklefordcharters.com, we decided to head back in the marsh to get into some of the specks and puppy drum working the grasses.

We worked jigs (didn’t much feel like live-baiting today) along the grasses, oyster beds, rips, cuts, channels – etc. We only fished for a few hours but we managed our INSHORE SLAM on artificials. First fish was a nice 3lb flounder than inhaled a tsuanami swim bait and then 3 nice speckled trout – the biggest of which was scott’s 3lb, 21″ fish. I topped it off with a short 17.5″ puppy drum. We had a good number of hits and missed some great fish – some live shrimp and mullet would be the TICKET! As the tide started to fall hard, we called it a day and went back to port.
